Optimize spaces with sensor-driven data
The heat grid sensor tracks heat and therefore human activity and feeds that data back to the system’s cloud dashboard. The sensor covers a 9×9 grid, which can be connected to other sensors to cover any area. This can then be used to program lights to brighten when people are in the affected zone. For example, to reduce energy usage in areas that are not being utilized. The sensor has also other uses, such as creating heat maps to see how clients, employees, or customers are using spaces and to optimize layouts and paths around that, to see foot traffic and integrate it into wayfinding and guidance, or to keep track of people in a room for safety and regulation purposes.
Responsive, Central Control
Cloud or other centralized dashboards are a key element of connected lighting. The idea is that you update, program, and change lighting from a single dashboard – usually via a cloud interface and an app on your smartphone. With all programming happening in one place, it’s possible to manually update lighting, with control down to the luminaire, to meet specific needs and goals.
Summa Systems also delivers an AI, or a deep learning neural network, which updates lighting throughout the day to meet desired goals, to maintain light settings, and to deliver better lighting experiences. In combination with the sensor based data, and triggers set up in the dashboard, this allows you to automatically turn lights on and off as people enter and exit spaces, to dim lighting, to adjust lighting based on themes, set to time of day, and to create optimized lighting scenarios. On top of that the AI also integrates hardware control, providing minute color adjustments to color feedback for perfect color and lighting and a hardware maintenance loop to ensure total system control.
